Tourist rip-off! Service unfriendly. Food just mediocre.

Good, soundly, colorful, satisfying, tasty!

Very cozy brauhaus opposite the famous Hofbrauhaus. However, staff are much friendlier staff and the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed and no large groups of Japanese taking pictures. Highly recommended

Awful service with rude waiters! Waited half an hour+ to order food, tried to get the waiter(s) attentions, but they bluntly ignored us several times! This is not the first time the waiters have been rude at this place... just a shame because the place has a good vibe!

Directly opposite the Hofbräuhaus and a real alternative (if you don't have to visit the Hofbräuhaus at least once for tourist reasons). From the outside inconspicuous inside on the ground floor Schwemme, on the first floor a rather normal restaurant. Belongs to the chain of Augustiner restaurants, so beer price is low by Munich standards (€ 3.85). The Augustiner beer comes from the wooden barrel, the food is of good quality and not overpriced by tourists. The staff is always friendly and attentive.

We ate great here and drank very tasty beer. The hygiene concept is adhered to. We recommend.

ordered Augutiner-Teller which contains of Schweinshaxe and Ente but instead got chicken and duck. Explained the waiter that we got chicken instead of pork leg, he said NO ITS PORK AND DUCK. i mean chicken leg and pork are VERY different in size!!! paid full prize. not very good experience

Popped in there in the afternoon shortly after opening. First contact with the waiter took forever. When ordering the drinks and snacks, we were allowed to listen to a subliminal cheeky comment. Ambiente was not a hit because of the generally bad and annoyed mood.

No service, no respect from the staff. A real mess

My favourite place to go to when I'm in Munich. I love that Bavarian atmosphere the place has. Everything: food, beer and the location are great. For me it seems to be less crowded and touristic than Hofbräuhaus.

Slow service, but great beer.

There were four of us there. 2 of us got the food early. When they were almost done, I wanted to ask the waiter about our meal. I only caught his colleague who told our waiter that we were calling him. Ours simply waved us off according to the motto "Oh, just let them go" and walked away. Sometime when the first had already eaten, we got our food. We didn't tip anyone.

Warm, outside but nice cool beer

Very good beer, the service is courteous and good. Unfortunately the food can't keep up: meat platters good, sauce okay, potato salad edible too sour and unfortunately no bacon. The Kaiserschmarren was partly burnt and the homemade compote of the season (June 11th = strawberries) consisted of cherries from the glass and was thin as a soup. We love to come back for the beer and the service, but not for the food.

Awesome dishes and great beer. Have the 1l, its worth it. And the vegetarian option of the strudel is fantastic

Typical German restaurant, with large decorated rooms and large tables. It is not the best cuisine in the city, but you can taste a well-made knuckle and some sausages. Augustiner beer is a success and they have a good variety on the menu. The service is fast (be careful what you ask for and what they serve / charge for) and they have a letter in English if you do not master German.

One of the most famous places in Munich. Good food which is a lot!!! And ofc beer. Medium prices.

Great place around Marienplatz. I went around midday and it wasn’t crowded. We ordered the pork with crispy skin and goulash, both great. Prices were ok. I had German white wine and was great as well. The staff was friendly.

I have to stop ordering only roast chicken and potatoes in Munich but for the moment: I can't do it. Bavarian cuisine is not bad, I am a bull and I am a bit my way. Very intimate and nice place in the historic center, the service is a bit poor while the quality of the food is good. Whether I will go back or not I don't know, for sure it's a welcoming retreat even if I prefer the hubbub of HB. I'm terrona, what can you do ?!

It's so good we went back twice. The pancake dessert was excellent.

Brimming with local food (and people), it's a better, less tourist-filled place than the famous Hofbräuhaus, thus delivering a more authentic experience of Bavarian food and beer than the latter.

They had nice sausages and some good beer, but the service was really bad. You can get nice beer and sausages in a lot of other places for a better price and even better taste
